Typically, New Year's is one of my least favorite holidays of the year. As a child, I remember seeing people celebrate with cheer and all of the fanfare that the holiday brings. Seemingly, I was never a part of the festivities, which in a sense, made this holiday not important to me. As a result, I have never enjoyed this holiday. Many people use this holiday to make useless resolutions that they intend to uphold. More likely than not, these people usually break this unorthodox pact within the first month. Why do we make deals with ourselves only at this time of the year? Why can't we decide to eat better, live healthier, visit family, and make better choices all year long? We can celebrate the year and reminisce as we live each day the way God intended. Let us be thankful and happy all year as we bring in this new year.
